The BNB fee discount is inactive by default for new accounts. You need to turn it on manually. Here is exactly how to do it on both platforms.
Enable BNB Fee Discount via Binance Website
- Log in to your Binance account at binance.com.
- Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select Dashboard from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the Fee Rate or Trading Fee section.
- Find the toggle labeled "Using BNB to pay for fees".
- Switch the toggle to ON (it will turn green).
Your BNB discount is now active. Every trade from this point on will deduct fees from your BNB balance at the discounted rate.
Enable BNB Fee Discount via Binance Mobile App
- Open the Binance app and tap your profile icon.
- Navigate to Account Center.
- Tap Settings, then find BNB Discount.
- Toggle the switch to enable BNB fee deduction.
What to Check After Enabling
After turning on the BNB discount, verify that your spot wallet holds enough BNB to cover a few weeks of expected fees. Keeping a small buffer — even $5–$10 worth of BNB — ensures the discount stays active without interruption.
If your BNB balance drops to zero, Binance silently reverts to standard fee rates. A small BNB reserve keeps the discount running continuously.
How to Confirm the Discount is Active
After each trade, check your transaction history. If the fee was deducted in BNB and the fee percentage reads 0.075% (for spot), the discount is working correctly. You can also see real-time fee information on your account's Fee Rate page.
